Barack Obama Presidential campaign:
- Jan 1, 2010 - President Obama's run for the 2012 Presidential re-election bid has taken an early big hit. Losses in three early key races show times are tough for the Obama administration.
F: This is devastating news for Obama. With wins in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial elections and a historic special senate election victory in Massachusetts (due to Sen Kennedy's sad death), the Republicans have stormed back. These Democratic defeats are a direct message from the American people to the Obama administration. Repeating history, President Clinton suffered the same early losses in his first term before the mid term congressional elections in which the Republicans made history winning both the house and senate. This forced Clinton to compromise his party and values in his re-election bid and govern towards the right. In doing so, Clinton won a second term. If Obama is not willing to do the same, he will be a one term President. Obama must start now and change his liberal ways. This is what the American people want.
- Jan 20, 2009 - President Obama's first day of presidency gives historic hope to Americans and the world.
A+: Never have we seen a newly elected U.S. President bestow such high hopes and excitement among the American people and around the world. This can only help his confidence as president
- Jan 20, 2009 (Day 1) - When Chief Justice Roberts got the words of the Presidential oath a little off, this prompted Obama to do so, too. For most people, this is understandable and will quickly be forgotten when considering the pressure at this historic event. However, one must ask themself, how the media and others would have reacted if this was ex-President George W Bush who stumbled the same way Obama did:
- Jan 20, 2009: Obama supporters boo President George W. Bush on Inaugaration Day
- Nov 4, 2008: President Obama wins the Presidential Election by defeating Republican candidate John McCain. The final percentage results were 52.9 % to 45.7%. The final vote count was Obama's 69,456,897 to McCain's 59,934,814
A: It was not even close. Obama won by a wide margin. It was only the second time since 1988 that a U.S. president has won over 50% of the vote. The other was George W Bush in 2004 who won 50.7% of the vote
- 2008 year - President Obama ran an almost flawless presidential campaign. In fact, many experts agree he ran one of the most brilliant presidential campaigns in American history.
A + : No one can deny this impressive feat. Remember he came from a long way to defeat a Democratic heavyweight favorite and icon in Hillary Clinton. It wll be tough to top this in is 2012 Presidential campaign.
Many Obama supporters were questioned on their knowledge (or lack of ) regarding their chosen candidate:
